There are basically 3 separate leveling mechanisms for your character in RF Online :
-Experience (XP)
-Combat proficiency (PT)
-kill proficiency (skill PT)
Experience (XP) is not the end all be all of the game. Nothing has changed. So stop thinking about Experience (XP). It is just not important at this point in RF Online Gold.
Now let us talk about different types of combat proficiency (PT). KNOW THEM WELL! Combat proficiency (PT) contains 6 separate elements. 4 of these elements are common to all 3 races. The following are the 4 common types of combat proficiency (PT) and what they pertain to:
1. Short Range PT:
Popularly known as Melee PT or close range PT. You gain this combat proficiency (PT) by using close range weapons (Spear, Axe, Knife, Sword, and Mace). Each successful hit will increase this combat proficiency (PT) statistic by a small amount. As it levels up( RF Online Gold), it increases close attack power, and you can wield higher level close range weapons and armors.
Every time your character swings and hits (misses don’t count) an enemy (PvE mob, or another race) this statistic will increase by a small amount.
2. Long Range PT:
Popularly known as ranged PT. You gain this combat proficiency (PT) by using long range weapons (Bows, Guns, and Throwing knives). Each successful hit will increase this combat proficiency (PT) statistic by a small amount. As this statistic levels up, it increases range attack power, gains you additional Stamina [SP]
NOTE: It is speculated that Accretians can gain additional Force [FP] by leveling ranged PT since they do not get Force PT. At this point in time I can only call it speculation because I have no proof that this is infact true. Every time your character shoots and hits (misses don’t count) an enemy (PvE mob, or another race) this statistic will increase by a small amount.
3. Shield PT :
You gain this combat proficiency (PT) every time you successfully block (you will see the word block above your head in blue text and/or hear a loud blocking sound) an incoming attack while a shield is equipped in RF Online Gold.
Each successful block will increase this combat proficiency (PT) statistic by a small amount. If you do not have a shield equipped, or the incoming attack caused you damage, you will not gain any shield combat proficiency (PT). As this statistic levels up, it increases the chances of blocking an attack/magic (not 100% sure that it does infact increase block success rate) and can use a higher level/stronger shield.
4. Defense PT :
You gain this combat proficiency (PT) every time you are damaged by any type of incoming attack. Each bit of incoming damage will increase this combat proficiency (PT) statistic by a small amount. As this statistic levels up, you gain additional RF Online Gold.
5. Force PT :
Force combat proficiency (PT) is common to both Cora and Bellato races, but not Accretia. This is because Force combat proficiency (PT) relates to magic use. Since Accretia are not magic users, they do not get this type of combat proficiency (PT). You gain this combat proficiency (PT) every time you use a magic skill. ( I will discuss skill proficiency shortly in RF Online Gold).
Each use will increase this combat proficiency (PT) statistic by a small amount. As this statistic levels up, your force (magic) damage increases, you gain more FP and you are able to equip higher level spiritualist weapons and armors.
